Never leave your house without eating a nutritious, filling breakfast. I’ve always loved breakfast. While studying nutrition I learned the long list of benefits that come with it!

I have been mad about teaching it to my girls, friends, and clients, or anyone who will listen. Starting your day with a breakfast packed with lean protein is a WIN for so many reasons!

Research shows that protein at breakfast helps build new muscle and bone cells, as well as boosting your immunity. It slows the release of the hormone ghrelin, which triggers feelings of hunger. Consuming protein at breakfast also increases the release of satiety hormones, helping you feel fuller for longer!

Protein for Muscle Growth & Weight Loss

Protein is also necessary for tissue repair and muscle growth. It helps your body recover after an intense workout. Another study found that increasing protein to 25% of total calories reduced late-night snacking by half and obsessive thoughts about food by 60%.


Simple, Sweet Flourless Pancakes

Ingredients:

One egg

One smashed banana


Instructions:

Mix and cook like a pancake.

No need for syrup! The banana gives it a subtle, yummy sweet. 

I like to top it with Greek yogurt, a swirl of honey, and a sprinkle of macadamia nuts for some healthy fat


Veggie-Packed Gourmet Egg Scramble

I love truffle oil and it’s the perfect final touch on this breakfast! In addition to their distinct taste and aroma, truffles are also rich in antioxidants and possess antibacterial, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients:

Naan Bread

Handful of arugula

Half a tomato, chopped

Truffle Oil (I got this from Amazon!)

Two eggs

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

Toast the Naan bread

Top with arugula & tomato

Scramble the eggs

Place eggs on top of arugula & tomato

Drizzle with Truffle Oil, salt, & LOTS of pepper

My Favorite Shakeology Recipe

I make mine every day in a blender with vanilla Shakeology, a banana, peanut butter, loads of ice, and water. I love using frozen banana to make it smooth, creamy, and add a bit of sweetness. The organic peanut butter I use only has two ingredients, (salt & peanuts) and that healthy fat lends to better absorption of all those superfoods.

If I want even more protein I’ll use organic soy milk instead of water.

Egg White Avocado Toast

This is a fast, easy, & powerful breakfast!!

Ingredients:

Egg whites (the real ones)

Tomato

Arugula

Avocado (healthier fat than butter!)

Whole wheat bread

Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Toast your bread & spread a thin layer of mashed avocado on it

Scramble your egg whites with tomato & arugula

Pile the egg scramble on your avocado toast & enjoy!
